Keep your backyard birds well fed with the large capacity Copper Triple Tube bird feeder. The Copper Triple Tube is ideal for bird feeding enthusiasts, with three independent seed tubes that let you serve different seed types to different birds. You can also adjust the 12 flip feeding ports to serve mixed or thistle seed in each of the three tubes, making the feeder even more versatile. And thanks to the clear plastic reservoirs, it's a breeze to monitor seed levels.

Tired of spilling seed all over your yard? The Copper Triple Tube features a removable, quick-release plastic seed tray to catch seeds while offering yet another place for birds to sit and dine. The integrated dome-shaped baffle keeps birds happy by foiling squirrels and protecting the seed from inclement weather. And the feeder is as beautiful as it is functional, with an attractive copper color finish and a built-in seed funnel for easier filling.

Choosing a Seed Type
The two-in-one feature on the Copper Triple Tube allows you to serve all types of seed. Small sunflower seed is best for birds with smaller bills, such as the sparrow, junco, and goldfinch. Thistle seed is also popular among small birds, and is preferred by a variety of finches, pine siskins, and indigo buntings.
Hanging a Bird Feeder
The best place to hang a bird feeder is in a sheltered location with southeastern exposure, as birds like to feed in the sun and out of the wind. Birds also prefer not to have any obstructions over their feeding areas, so they can easily see predators.
Discouraging Squirrels and Raccoons
When hanging your bird feeder from a tree branch, try and locate it at least 12 feet from any tree trunk or limb and at least 4 feet up from the ground. This will prevent squirrels from either jumping from the tree or up for the ground onto the feeder. If you're hanging a feeder off the line, make sure the line is at least 8 feet long, with the feeder suspended at least 4 feet above the ground or snow. You should also use a very thin wire, such as piano wire.
When pole mounting the feeder, make sure the pole is at least 5-1/2 feet in length. This will allow you to place the pole approximately 1 foot into the ground and still keep the bottom of the feeder 4 feet off the ground. You may also want to add a squirrel baffle, such as the Perky-Pet squirrel baffle, which can be hung above or pole mounted below the feeder. And to keep raccoons at bay, try placing a 6-inch diameter stovepipe that's at least 2 feet long around the mounting pole. They'll find it difficult to climb the thicker stovepipe.

By Stephen H. Olsen
I bought this particular Opus feeder on Amazon, Seven Years ago. It is amazing that the feeder not only looks great but also still is operating like new. Opus Company is the most cooperative manufacturer and they stand behind all their products.
I called them when an aggressive squirrel ate through the squirrel guard in about six months, only because I had it put it up with too large of rope. Though it was my fault, they replaced the top and sent it out to my house immediately 100% free!
Over the years, I have had questions about birds and feeders and they are quick to answer them. They know the animals that eat out of their products! Opus makes more than Bird Feeders, they make many different garden products and Amazon is their top seller of those goods. That is who they always suggest you shop through Amazon because as they will tell you "Amazon.com has the absolute lowest price on all" these quality products.
I now own seven Opus Feeder and other Opus Garden Products; all are in new shape with heavy use in the adverse weather of Kansas! Yes Dorothy Kansas!
Let us not forget to shop for these at Amazon.com, but go to http://www.opususa.com and look over the entire line of their products and get the best advice on outside birding and other great information.

By Clint
These are fine if you're in an area with small birds, no squirrels, and.......no rain. The main problem is the bottom is held in place onto each of the 3 tubes ONLY by two tiny fragile "clips" on only about 2mm in size! As long as there is no weight on the bottom, you're fine. With large birds and huge doves, that gets to be a LOT of weight, many pounds on the bottom of the feeder which it cannot take over time. Yes, squirrels STILL do get on it which make it even worse (they are VERY smart, and even with sunflower seeds put out all over the place, they still INSIST on trying to get a few seeds out of the feeders!) :-)
The other issue which adds to this problem is rain. As soon as bird seed gets wet, it sprouts in a matter of hours and unless you clean the feeder out after EVERY rain, or humid night, the seed will indeed grow and grow on the bottom eventually forcing, "shoving" the bottom FROM the 3 tubes--again due to the undersized poorly designed clips.
This problem could SO EASILY be fixed by simply using either a larger retention/clipping mechanism on the bottom, or "studs" of some kind to which the tubes can connect THROUGH the bottom portion. But, for some reason the manufacturer refuses to do this.
Small birds, no squirrels or AWAY from squirrels, and little rain and low humidity; the feeders are fine.

By C. Wall
I was expecting this to be a copper bird feeder - I was hoping to match my copper bird bath. Note that this is copper-colored plastic - *not* copper. If you don't mind the plastic, it seems like a nice bird feeder, but I chose to send it back.
